The Perfect Sunday Reading Ritual

|Marcy

Book in a Read More sleeve on a wooden table, ready for a slow morning

Sunday mornings are my favorite part of the week. No alarm, nowhere to be. Here is exactly how I spend them:

πŸ“– 1. Pick the book Saturday night

Choosing in the morning wastes the good quiet. I leave my current read wherever I plan to sit tomorrow. One less decision between me and page one.

β˜• 2. Make the drink a Routine

Coffee or tea, made without rushing. The morning starts here, not at the first page. (I have strong opinions about mugs but that is a post for another day.)

🧢 3. Build the nest

The chair with the good light, a blanket, everything in reach. The goal is not getting up for the first hour. My blanket is probably stolen from someone's room in this house and I am not sorry.

πŸ“΅ 4. Phone goes in the kitchen

Not on silent beside me. In another room. The book gets all of me or none of me.

✨ 5. Keep your read ready to grab

The less friction between you and the book, the more you read. Mine lives in its sleeve, so it is always protected and always grabbable. Chair, porch, bookstore run, wherever the morning takes me.

What does your Sunday morning look like? Tag me in your setup, I love seeing other readers' rituals. Let's romanticize the reading life together. 🌾🫢 Happy reading!
